Frequently Asked Questions

  • I studied photojournalism at the University of the Arts London (UAL) before spending four years working as a staff photographer for a newspaper. In 1998, I went freelance and expanded my photography to include editorial work. I even shot a few weddings exploring different areas of photography.

In 2006, I returned to UAL to teach photojournalism and qualified as a teacher in 2009, gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching.

In 2017, I completed a Documentary Film Foundation course at Raindance, London.

  • I take great pride in delivering high-quality photography and video that aligns with your brief. My goal is to ensure you are fully satisfied with the final result. If there are any concerns, I will work with you to find a resolution—whether that’s a re-edit or, if necessary, a reshoot.

However, there are reasonable limitations to this guarantee. The satisfaction guarantee does not apply if:

    • The client changes their mind about the concept after delivery.

    • The work is rejected based on artistic or creative choices, provided it aligns with the agreed brief.

    • The client fails to secure necessary permissions, model releases, or location access required for the shoot.

    • The client does not provide essential props, products, or any agreed materials needed for the shoot.

    • The client does not fully consider the deliverables required before booking, resulting in additional requests beyond the original scope.

    • The client is unavailable for necessary communication, approvals, or scheduled shoots, affecting the project's outcome.

    • Additional revisions or changes beyond the agreed scope are requested—these may incur extra costs.

    • The client requests deliverables in a format or resolution not originally agreed upon.

    • The request for resolution is made beyond 7 days after final delivery.

    • External factors beyond my control (e.g., weather conditions, third-party involvement) affect the outcome.

    • The client requests edits that compromise the integrity or quality of the work (e.g., excessive filtering, cropping, or modifications that degrade the final product).

The satisfaction guarantee applies only to work delivered as per the agreed brief. Any additional revisions, scope changes, or modifications beyond the original agreement may incur additional costs. Clients are responsible for timely communication, providing necessary materials, and ensuring realistic expectations based on the agreed project scope.

The guarantee is limited to re-edits or reshoots where appropriate, and refunds are not offered. My priority is to create work that truly represents your vision while maintaining the highest professional standards.

  • Yes. Every project is covered by a contract to ensure clarity and professionalism. The contract outlines the scope of work, deliverables, payment terms, usage rights, and responsibilities for both parties. It protects both you as the client and me as the creator, ensuring expectations are clear from the outset.

Before any work begins, I’ll provide the contract for review, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. This helps ensure a smooth working process with no surprises.

  • No, I do not supply RAW photos or unedited video footage. In professional photography and filmmaking, RAW files are considered the digital equivalent of a film negative—they contain all the raw data captured by the camera but require processing to bring out their full quality. Just as photographers don’t hand over film negatives, RAW files are not provided as standard industry practice.

RAW files also serve as proof of authorship, ensuring the integrity and originality of my work. They are of no use to anyone without specialist software to process and extract file formats suitable for common use. They require professional editing to achieve the final look that meets creative vision and high production standards.

The final edited images or videos you receive are carefully edited to reflect my professional style and expertise, delivered in high-quality formats suitable for your needs. If you require specific edits or formats, I’m happy to discuss tailored options to meet your requirements. Charges may apply.

  • Yes, I offer training on photography and video production as well as storytelling for businesses to help improve their visual content. Full details are on the Training page. If you have any questions, please ask.

  • I’m not a scriptwriter but I can offer some guidance. For best results, I would recommend working with a professional scriptwriter who will be able to deliver the very best quality your campaign deserve.

  • Studio Sessions take place on the last Friday of every month. These are creative sessions where I collaborate with people willing to model while I test new techniques, explore concepts, and refine my style. It’s a space for experimentation, artistic growth, and most importantly, feeding the soul.
